PERSONALITY
He is quite a paradox. He is loyal, dedicated, and sometimes stuck in his own ways, but he is also emotionally fluid and filled with passion. He is also super big on commitment.
Because he is afraid of others judging the wild thoughts that are always flying around in his head, he is insecure and doesn’t let people in easily.
He commits to someone if, and only if, he is absolutely positive he knows the real people and trusts that they will accept him for who he really is.
His jealousy and need for control is a drag. Luckily, he is very aware of boundaries and he will respect them. Power and control issues are problems he faces, but if people enforce their rules, he will stay in line.
He is only interested in getting with someone who honestly wants to get to know him. He has thousand layers, but when he trusts people enough to open up and they reach the core of who he truly is, it is definitely worth it.

2. SMOKEY
| PET | Shuichirou never imagined that he would actually take care of an animal, even decided to have a pet. He met the gray tabby kitten in the town park. Since no one showed up and claimed as the owner, Shuichirou took the kitten home with him. Now he lives with the kitten, the name is Smokey, in his apartment unit. |

| CHILDHOOD FRIEND | Shuichirou was 18 years old when Arishima and him first met. He was just joining his grandfather to work in the repair shop. The beginning of their friendship wasn't as good as friendship which people commonly have. Shuichirou found Arishima quite hostile and the bad temper which both of them possessed only made things worse between them. As the time passed by, Shuichirou began to understand Arishima's hostility. Even though they oftenly had quarell, they were never really hating each other. Shuichirou even thaught Arishima some insights about mechanical engineering. Now they still maintain their friendship. Sometimes Arishima visits his repair shop. |

BACKGROUND
The Gakutaka family is a well-known family as the owner of ATLA Co., a sea cargo shipping company, and also owning many boathouses in Kyoto.
With ports in more than 120 countries and currently controlling 7.2 percent of international shipments, ATLA Co. owns 229 cargo ships.
Gakutaka Junichirou started his career in 1960 as the owner of several cargo ships (or freighters) and boathouses. From his marriage, Junichirou got a son named Gakutaka Shouichirou, the father of Shuichirou. Since childhood, Junichirou loved all kinds of things about machines that finally made him pursue his dream of becoming a mechanic.
The cargo shipping and boathouse business were eventually passed on to Shouichirou, headquartered in Kyoto, while Junichirou started a new business; a repair shop in Tokyo. Till finally, Shuichirou was born. Just like his father, Shuichirou is the only son and only grandson of Gakutaka family.
Shuichirou grew up following Junichirou. Since childhood, Shuichirou had also shown an interest about machinery. As the only grandson, Junichirou then passed down his workshop to Shuichirou. One year later, Junichirou passed away.
Though the assets that Junichirou left are numerous, they are barely unnoticeable because of Shuichirou's modest lifestyle.
Still inspired by the great figure of Junichirou, Shuichirou is still focused on continuing the workshop business his grandfather passed down to him.
The Shadow King
Since his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, his father (Gakutaka Shouichirou) has taken an action to effectuate CEO succession down to his only son, Shuichirou.
All authority and responsibility have been fully assigned to Shuichirou. Instead of publishing the news about the succession, Shuichirou decides not to declare his appointment just yet.
As someone who dislikes complicated matters and spotlights, Shuichirou prefers to keep living his modest lifestyle. Shuichirou also assume that his public apperance is not yet essential.
Thus Shouichirou is still acknowledged by public as the CEO of ATLA Co. while Shuichirou takes on almost all of his father's duties by executing remote command.
As this cryptic term of "Shadow King" remains unofficially announced, Shuichirou keeps his 'appearance' as a mechanic and continues to stay in his grandfather's workshop. Shuichirou still amuse himself by working around the machines.
